Thermoforming on site

This picture illustrates the outstanding impact resistance of Altro Whiterock in comparison to ceramic tiles.  When tested by the 'Dropped Ball' method to BS-EN 438 - 2 1991, the tiles were damaged by even minor impact while the Altro Whiterock showed no visible damage even after impact from 3.5 metres.  (Picture shows impact damage to tiles caused by drop from 2.5m.)  Tests carried out by Russell House Laboratories Ltd.

Extruded PVC (W103/W104) - the economical standard grade for general use 
Altro Whiterock Extruded sheet is made from high quality PVC polymer. It is food safe, easy to clean, impact resistant and virtually maintenance free. It meets all current EU Directives on health and hygiene.  Suitable for operating temperatures up to 60C, it is the cost-effective choice for the majority of applications.

Laminated PVC (W001) - for extra impact resistance 
Altro Whiterock Laminated PVC sheeting combines all the features of Extruded PVC sheeting with increased chemical resistance and exceptional resistance to impact. Made by laminating multiple piles of PVC at high temperature and pressure, it remains semi-rigid and easy to cut and install.

Altro Whiterock W089 - for localised areas
Altro Whiterock W089 is designed for use in conjunction with Extruded or Laminated sheets in localised areas where reflected temperatures between 60oC and 80oC are expected, such as dishwash areas in commercial kitchens, near radiators or hot cabinets. It is also ideal for areas that need to be steam cleaned.

This laminated thermoplastic sheet as a glassfibre reinforced PVC core with PVC foils on both faces and offers a Class 0 Fire Rating, Building Regulations 1991, no matter what the substrate. Hygienic and virtually maintenance free, it has excellent dimensional and thermal stability, chemical resistance and good impact strength. It is also available in a range of attractive colours.

Stainless steel completes the picture
For locations where temperatures are likely to exceed 80oC - such as deep-fat frying areas - and also in open flame areas. Altro can supply stainless steel cladding. Made from 18 swg DPI matt brushed stainless steel (304 food grade), these sheets may also be used for reinforcing corners and other vulnerable areas.
